About our Project

When the world changed earlier this year, many of us retreated to our record players to be reminded of the healing power of the music we grew up with. This album is a public testimony to that power, and to the goodwill of the Detroit music community to come together to help the Detroit homeless community.

Featuring Sponge, Mike Skill from the Romantics, Ricky Rat Pack, The Hard Lessons, Jennifer Westwood and the Handsome Devils, The Firewalkers, and the Orbitsuns, the musicians on this record are some of the most iconic in Detroit rock, and they're covering some of the most iconic Detroit songs.

This has been a labor of love for us. And a love of our community drives this project. Every penny from the sale of this record benefits the amazing work of the Pope Francis Center in downtown Detroit. They serve over 200 guests per day and provide showers and laundry services, daily medical clinics, legal and housing assistance.

No industry was hit harder by the pandemic than the music industry, so the participation of these amazing musicians on this record is inspiring to everyone at the Pope Francis Center.
